Sessions combine assessment, hands-on techniques, and take-home guidance. Each session is personalized to what your horse needs and is ready for that day. While we assess progress at every session, a full reassessment (including marked up pictures and gait assessment videos) is required every six months for documentation.
Each session includes the following activities.
This is not a lameness exam, but a look at posture and movement to identify where the session should focus or assess progress. A full assessment is required every 6 months; other sessions include a shorter, cursory check-in focused on known areas that require support.
Drawing from a toolkit of bodywork approaches, applied based on what the assessment and your horse's responses call for that day.
Take-home guidance to support what came up in the session, including guidance for how to keep your horse comfortable and moving well until next time. This may include recommendations to other providers such as saddle fitters or nutritionists.
These techniques are applied as appropriate for each horse's needs and individual's goals.
Gentle, sustained pressure to release tension held in the connective tissue surrounding muscles.
Targeted pressure on specific tight spots within a muscle that can refer tension or discomfort elsewhere in the body.
Techniques aimed at muscle recovery, performance, and injury prevention for horses in work.
Slow, guided movement of a limb or joint to support flexibility and identify restrictions.
Light, rhythmic strokes used to help a horse relax and settle into the session.
